Last week Corey went on a field trip to the Dworshak Dam & hatchery with her History 395 class. The class is an environmental history class that focuses on floods in the Palouse region & rivers. Here are a few pictures she sent me. I couldn't expand them or they got too blurry.

Corey Update
Wow! It's been a while since the last Corey update. Of course, she doesn't snap me as many pictures as she used to, so I won't take all the blame. Anyhow, she is well into the spring semester and only a few short weeks from coming home for spring break. Crazy how fast it is going by! Recently she worked at & attended the Chase Bryant concert at WSU. It's cool that she gets to meet famous people as part of her job with the Student Entertainment Board.
I taught her how to make fried rice during Christmas break, so now she can have it any time she is home sick.
Haha, she is not too happy with that cat these days. It keeps crawling up the underside of her bed and won't come out.
She got to meet this guy, Jose Antonio Vargas, who is a journalist, filmmaker, and immigration rights activist.
And, of course, Chase Bryant. She is so funny & said she was bummed she didn't get a picture with his dog.

Portland Volksmarch (#1)
With 2015 not being a stellar volksmarching year (we only completed 5), we had big hopes for 2016. Unfortunately, between my bad back and Scott & I both down with a terrible virus in January, we didn't make it to our first volksmarch until this past Saturday. The volksmarch was in Northeast Portland and started at the Kennedy School, which is a McMenamins renovation. They turned an abandoned 1915 elementary school into a movie theater, brewery, restaurant, bar, gift shop, and hotel complete with soaking pool. It was pretty cool and the food there was delicious. We walked around the surrounding neighborhood & the campus of Concordia University. It was a pretty nice day for a February. So glad we got to complete our first volksmarch for 2016! And, of course, we had to stop for donuts at Voodoo Donuts on our way home!
