On Saturday Scott headed up to Seattle to attend the Greenwood Car Show with Gabby. It's a big yearly event and this was their 30th anniversary. It spans a huge area on Greenwood Blvd between 67th and 90th streets. They spent several hours viewing tons of cool cars with a small pitstop halfway for some yummy sandwiches and beignets at Celine Patisserie. Gabby took tons of pictures.

Tea Tasting at Ruston
For my birthday Corey and Terrell purchased tickets to a tea tasting at a place in Ruston put on by the Tea Madame. The 4 of us went on Friday night and tried 7 different teas. Not all of them were a hit, but we all found at least one or two that we really enjoyed. The instructors gave us lots of good information about the history of tea, the different types of tea, and how to brew it properly. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot. Afterward we walked on the boardwalk for a little bit before having to get home to the puppies, who still don't like being abandoned for too long.

Pt Defiance Rose Garden, Father's Day and My Birthday
We had planned a trip up to Vancouver, BC with Gabby & Ethan for Father's Day and my birthday this year but, unfortunately, Ethan came down with Covid the Monday before we were set to go. So instead Scott & I stayed home & enjoyed an extended staycation (we had Monday off for Juneteenth). Corey & Terrell came over on Father's Day; we played lots of games and took the puppies on a long walk which made them very happy. On Monday I got to hang out with Jennifer & Clarissa. We went to the rose garden at Pt. Defiance which was at about 80% full bloom. Afterward we went to lunch at the Spar in Old Town which had delicious food and a great view of the water. Glad I got to spend the day with them! I am also glad to report that Ethan is feeling much better and somehow Gabby managed to avoid catching Covid!
Just a small sampling of the different roses we saw.
| Pink roses are my fav, and this one is a Gemini Rose which is quite apropos. |

Afternoon tea on the MV Lotus
Yesterday we traveled up north to Seattle for an afternoon tea on the MV Lotus that is docked at Lake Union. The Lotus is a motor yacht that was constructed in 1909 for the McMicken family. Now it's maintained by the Lotus Foundation. They offer Sunday teas to help offset the cost of upkeep along with renting out the rooms to overnight guests. We had service on the upper deck. It wasn't a very warm day, but we were enclosed so it wasn't too bad. No group photo, but there were 6 of us total: me, Scott, Gabby, Teresa, Clarissa & Jen.
