Bowling

We were trying to figure out what to do on this drizzly & cold day and thought maybe bowling would be good since it's indoors.   I remember now why we don't go bowling very often.  It's because we really stink at it.  We bowled two games; Scott won the first & Gabby won the second.  I never did break 100, which is sad considering I had two strikes in the first game.  Oh well, we still had fun!

Gabby not looking too happy the first game.

Second game.  I came in second!

Christmas 2015

We had a great Christmas this year!  I hope everyone else did, too.  On Christmas Eve day we went to see the new Star Wars movie, which was really good, followed by bubble tea & dinner at Italia.  Christmas Eve night the girls each opened one present, then we watched the holiday classic, Die Hard.  Gabby liked it, but Corey was not impressed.  I cannot believe how old that movie is!

Christmas morning was short, but sweet.  Since we went to Disneyland for Thanksgiving, the girls just got stocking stuffers from us this year, but they did receive some real presents from other family members.  I think the biggest surprise gift were tickets to see Adele in concert in July.  Some other notable gifts received: lots of gift cards, cash, leggings, CDs, DVDs, flannel shirts, slippers, wool socks, running tights, chocolates, a Garmin.   We had lunch at my sister's house, then it was back home to play Dominos.  It was wonderful to have the 4 of us together for Christmas!

Not Winston's most happy face.

This was at the mall waiting for bubble tea to be made. Yum!

Winston was so interested in Corey's gift.  He ate his bone too quickly!

Nutcracker 2015

I cannot believe this was Gabby's 7th season of Nutcracker!  She did an amazing job!   She performed in all six shows and took on six different roles: the Bear, Harlequin, Russian Lead, Mirliton Lead, Flower and Snow.

Click HERE to see a short behind the scenes video of her as the Bear.  It's pretty funny.

So glad Corey was able to be home for the shows.

Scott did a great job as part of the stage crew.

There is Gabby in the upper corner of the stage in her Harlequin costume. She had to stand there and then move every 30 seconds or so. She did some funny moves up there like the Macarena, Vogue, YMCA and even the Sprinkler!

Christmas Tea at the Meeker Mansion

We decided to focus our holiday season on experiences this year, so last month I went online to find fun things to do, and came across a Christmas Tea at the Meeker Mansion in Puyallup.  Since my family does not drink tea, I decided to ask my friends to go.  Today the 5 of us enjoyed an incredibly lovely high tea.  I don't know why, but drinking tea out of fine China makes it taste that much more delicious.  I guess those Victorians knew what they were about!  Afterwards, we took a self-guided tour of the mansion & also learned a little bit about its history.  It was a really fun day!

Festival of Trees

Every year we go to the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia to view the Christmas Forest put on by Providence Hospital.  This year Scott & I decided to go up to the Convention Center in Tacoma to view the Festival of Trees instead.  This is also a big fundraiser, but for Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.  There were over 60 beautifully decorated trees,  table top trees, wreaths & table settings.  Everything gets auctioned off, and several of the trees included amazing vacations, excursions & prizes.  It was definitely worth seeing, and I'm glad we got to go.  Afterwards we walked just a couple blocks to the Old Spaghetti Factory for a late lunch.  It was a good day.

This airplane themed tree included private airplane & helicopter rides.

This Seahawk tree included VIP tickets to one of their games.

I love Snoopy!  There were two Snoopy themed trees.

This is a bird house. How cute is that?

This tree included a private gingerbread decorating party for 10 kids!

This tree included a trip to the 2016 U.S. Open.

A Chorus Line

Scott and I bought a season pass to the 5th Avenue Theater for the 2026-2027 season, which will consist of 5 shows.  Our first show was A Ch...
