Father's Day 5k

This morning Scott ran in the Father's Day 5k put on by the Hands on Children's Museum to benefit the Family Support Center of Olympia. It was a beautiful morning, sunny but cool.  He had a great race and finished with one of his best times yet, 28:02.

Pre-run.  He ended up changing into a short sleeve shirt because it was warming up quickly.

There he is in a orange shirt.

Coming around the last corner...

Another year over!

Can't believe this little goose is officially a SENIOR in high school!  Her last day of school was on Thursday.   I asked for a last day of school picture and this is what she sent me. I swear, Winston is in every picture!  Isn't her hair cute?  She cut it just recently for the summer.

Tacoma Rainiers Game

Last night Corey, Scott & I headed up to watch the Rainiers play against the Fresno Grizzlies.  We weren't quite sure we would make it as the traffic was awful and it was pouring rain.  Luckily, by the time we got there, the rain had stopped, and the game went on as scheduled.  It was a really fun game, especially since we got to see the Rainiers stomp on the Grizzlies, winning 10 to 4!  Afterwards, we enjoyed their fireworks show, which was pretty good for such a small venue.  Such a fun time!

Ominous clouds, but we stayed dry the entire game.

The Rainiers were looking sharp in their red and white.

Rhubarb had stripped out of his uniform and went streaking around the stadium.  It was hilarious!  The guy in yellow is the security guard chasing him.

Yoh! Hike at Snoquera Falls

Today Scott & I hiked with the Yoh! group to Snoquera Falls.  The sign said it is a 2.8 mile loop, but it ended up being over 4 miles.  Including the little interpretive trail we took around Moss Lake, we hiked about 5.2 miles.  We didn't see any wild life other than slugs & caterpillars, but we did see some elk droppings.  The first half of the loop was all uphill, but the trail was very well maintained.  There were several downed trees we had to climb over, but it wasn't too bad.  Once we saw the falls & crossed the creek, it became much more rocky and difficult to navigate.  My knees and ankles were screaming!  A couple people climbed up to the base of the falls, but it was a bit too steep for me, so I had to see them from afar.  We lucked out and had dry weather, which made the hike much more bearable.  I was never so glad to see the end of that hike!

First bridge, which was on the interpretive trail.  Scott looks cold because it was cold!  But we quickly warmed up once the trail started climbing.

This sign lied to us.  It was way longer than 2.8 miles!

Pammy looking cute!

Not sure what these are, but they were pretty.

Aspen & Teresa on the switchback portion of the hike.

Scott going over a downed tree.

Same tree but I went under instead of over.

The closest I got to the falls, unfortunately.

It was rough going...can you even see the trail?

Tree hugger!

Someone left us this cairn so we would know we were on the right track.

The very rocky portion of the trail.

Looks like Columbine.

Aspen being king of the rock.

Teresa found some cauliflower mushrooms.  I'd be too scared to eat it!

Chambers Bay

Our plan was to go to the Tacoma Rainiers game tonight, but when we got there, they told us the game had been sold out.  We were so bummed!  Since we didn't want to waste a beautiful evening sitting in freeway traffic, we took a detour on the way home to one of our favorite spots, Chambers Bay in University Place.  This place never disappoints!  No matter what the weather, it is always beautiful.  But, it's always more pleasant to do the 5k loop when it's balmy out.  We got some great pictures, which almost made up for missing the game.  Dairy Queen on the way home helped, too.

Not sure what flowers these are, but they grew really tall on a vine.

My favorite picture!

I loved how the sun made a prism in the clouds.

A Chorus Line

Scott and I bought a season pass to the 5th Avenue Theater for the 2026-2027 season, which will consist of 5 shows.  Our first show was A Ch...
