Gabby's Birthday Fun

We met up with Gabby on Saturday morning in Edmonds to do an early birthday celebration.  We started at Pine Ridge Park then walked over to Yost Park and back; in all we completed 2.61 miles.   They were really cute little parks and had lots of bridges.  Afterward we had lunch in downtown Edmonds at Taki Tiki, which had great food, before wandering down to the waterfront to check out the water & the ferry terminal.  We also did a bit of shopping in the cute little shops.  It was sunny but really cold out, and the wind felt very arctic.  So fun to spend some time with our girl for her 24th birthday!

We hiked the Sword Fern Trail and the Highline Trail (which was super hilly) at Yost park.

By the ferry terminal.

Lots of cool murals in downtown Edmonds, but I only took a picture of this one.

Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont

For Christmas the girls gave me a certificate for an afternoon tea at the Fairmont Hotel in Seattle, which we finally attended on Sunday.  Corey couldn't go due to a scheduling conflict, so Scott took her spot.  It ended up being me, Scott, Gabby & Ethan.  We were served in the beautiful lobby area, which was cool.  The food was delicious and plentiful.  My favorite was definitely the cucumber sandwich; I could have eaten a dozen of them!  Such a fun treat!

We ate almost everything and were bursting from the seams!

Scott's Birthday

Yesterday Scott turned 56! Sherry flew over for the weekend and the kids came over as well.  We celebrated by doing a scavenger hunt in downtown Tacoma.  Although the weather was cold & windy, we lucked out and only got sprinkled on at the very beginning. It was our first time doing a scavenger hunt, so there was definitely a learning curve with the app.  The hunt started at the Tacoma Art Museum, then took us around downtown to various points of interest.  We had to take a picture at each spot and answer questions before it would reveal our next destination.  As it was our first time we chose "easy" for the challenges, but next time we'll step it up a little and do intermediate.  It took us a couple hours to complete the hunt and we ended up walking around 2 miles.  Afterward we went to an early dinner at the McMenamins at the Elk Temple, which was a really cool place.  The food was seriously yummy, and everyone ate everything on their plates.  Then we headed home for some desserts before the kids had to head home.  It was great to see everyone!

At the start point. Corey & Terrell met us later on.

Sculpture made with blankets.

One challenge was to act like a kid, so Gabby was going to pick her nose. Haha.

Acting like secret agents.

This sculpture is outside the Hotel Murano.

We were supposed to pose like the welcoming lady.

Picture at the last check in point which was in front of the Chihuly exhibit at the Museum of Glass.

Waiting to be seated...we were dying of hunger!

We did some more walking around the Museum of Glass after we completed the hunt since Ethan had never been here.

The restaurant gave him a free scoop of ice cream for his birthday.

A Chorus Line

Scott and I bought a season pass to the 5th Avenue Theater for the 2026-2027 season, which will consist of 5 shows.  Our first show was A Ch...
