Laurelhurst Stair Walk

Scott, Gabby and I completed another stair walk today in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle which is situated on Lake Washington.  We walked by some lovely houses, tons of pretty flowers, and had beautiful views of the lake and Kirkland across the water. It was fairly short at just under 2 miles, but it had a ton of hills and, of course, stairs! It was not the warmest day, and we did get rained on halfway through, but that’s fairly typical for Memorial Day weekend in Western Washington.  We celebrated our completion of the walk with some super yummy ice cream from Bluebird.

We liked how they shaped their bush into a bird.

I just liked this spiral staircase.

Yoh! Hike @ Woodard Bay

The four of us had a nice & relaxing hike this morning at Woodard Bay in Olympia.  We did the loop trail then walked to Weyer Point where we saw beautiful views of Henderson Inlet, several cormorants & a couple harbor seals.  It was a little chilly, but dry.  In all we hiked 2.62 miles with only 93 feet of elevation gain.  There were some new additions to Weyer Point since we were last here in 2017.  It was a great way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend!

Tacoma Rainiers Game #2

Our second Rainiers game of the season was this past Sunday. It was actually supposed to be our third, but we missed the one on April 28th due to weather. We traded in our tickets to that game for the Cougar Night game coming up on August 3rd.  We played the Salt Lake Bees, and were doing well, until we made a couple of errors which allowed them to tie in the 4th.  In the 10th inning they scored 3 runs, beating us 5 to 3.  Oh well, next time!

Sporting the hats they gave out this year to season ticket holders.

Not sure why the 1st inning is not on there? But we had a run that inning.

Pt. Defiance Iris Garden

So happy we made it to the Iris Garden this year at Pt. Defiance.  For living so close, we kind of forget that it's there!  Not everything was blooming yet, but a few had already come and gone.  This year they had tags with the names so that was nice.  Lots of lovely blooms! I tried my best to capture their beauty, but the pictures just don't do them justice.
