Swimming!

We've been members of the Valley for quite a while, but never seem to use it much (except for Scott). So today we decided to go and take advantage of their outdoor pool. It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect.

Into the pool......

Catching some rays......

Reading by the pool is always fun....

Rainiers Baseball!

Having Mondays off this summer is so nice! We decided to take advantage of our time off & the hot weather by taking in a Rainiers game. Our seats were in the sun, and I have to admit I only made it through the 3rd inning before taking off for shade. I felt like I was literally melting in my seat. Scott & the girls made it another 2 innings before coming to join me (though they said they only came to sit with me so I wouldn't be alone...hmmm). It was a good game and exciting to the very end. We won 5 to 4 in the 10th inning.

Just arrived.

A picture with our favorite mascot, Rhubarb.

Having chicken nuggets...what else?

Our seats in the sun. We brought along a lot of sunscreen, thank goodness.

Corey thought this peanut was odd and wanted a picture of it.

A view from our seats.

She was hot and full of 'tude!

I moved over to the shade and took this pic of them from my new seat. You can just make them out in the very center of the photo.

The Rainiers pitching. Can you see the ball?

At the end of the game all the players rushed onto the field to celebrate.

XXX Rootbeer Drive-In & Cougar Car Show

I was reading the entertainment section of the paper on Friday and came across a notice for a Cougar car show today in Issaquah at the XXX Rootbeer Drive-In. Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to go and check it out. First we had some lunch then looked at all the cars on display. There were many cool ones. Scott was in heaven!

A very appropriate sign...

Trying to figure out what to order...

The girls & I split the "Toolbox" which included homemade chips, fries, curly fries, fried jalapenos, fried mushrooms, onion rings & chicken strips. We barely made a dent in it. It was way too much food!

Gabby enjoying her vanilla shake. It was really good.

On to the cars...........

Only 619 of these were ever made.

We found Scooby Doo hanging out in one of the cars.

A pink Edsel...I liked this car.

This car was for sale...only $4300...what a bargain! But Scott didn't like it.

I talked to the owner who says she has owned it for 31 years.

The convertibles are always a big hit.

Corey really liked this one.

The car's name.

She also liked this old woody. It was really cool inside...

It had 3 rows of seats...........

and a wood ceiling.

On the way home we stopped in Renton to see some BMWs. I like the old ones.

The girls liked the doors on this one.

Tumwater Volksmarch #10

We completed our 10th volksmarch this morning in Tumwater. Scott didn't come because he was golfing, so it was just me, the girls, Winston & Clarissa. It wasn't a very exciting volksmarch, but at least we got to enjoy some sunshine & another 5k under our belts.

At the starting point-Tumwater High School. Check out Corey's new sunglasses.

Winston looks really long in this picture.

This event was put on by the Capitol Volkssport Club. They originally didn't have their Volkssport flag up so I asked them where it was. They said they would look for it. When we finished the walk a few of the members let me know that it was up so that we could get our picture taken by it. They were so nice!

We found this cute little courtyard in between some state buildings. Here is Gabby checking out one of their chairs made from rocks. They were actually quite comfortable.

The courtyard had these cute frog statues. Here is Corey pretending to be that frog.

You can see us reflected in her glasses.

One of the club members took this pic for us, but he cut Winston out of the picture. Doh!

I forgot to post these pictures of Corey & her friends taken the last day of middle school.

Nice afro!
