Junior Preview Day at WSU

Saturday was Junior Preview Day at Washington State University...Go Cougs!  We were over at WSU in the fall for Future Cougar Day & the football game. This event is different because it is specifically for high school juniors to get more information about the academic programs at WSU. Scott & Corey were impressed with their Animal Sciences department, which is where Corey will probably do her undergraduate work, to prepare for Vet school.  They had a great time and Corey is pretty sure she will be attending WSU in the fall of 2014.   So exciting!

I made Corey take the camera to document their adventures since I wasn't going.  She protested a bit at first, but ended up taking more than 200 pictures!  Here they are on Friday afternoon heading to Spokane...

Pit stop

The next morning Corey did not want to get up....they had to be in Pullman pretty early.

Looks like they left at 6:34 AM.

Pit stop at Safeway for donuts..

The low tire button kept coming on...they had to stop a few times to fill up the tires.  I've got to get my car to Les Schwab  soon.

Pretty bridge and rolling hills...
Getting close to cougar country...

Photos of the campus while on their tour..

They enjoyed the show by the marching band.

Heading home...

Puyallup Volksmarch # 5

On Saturday Jennifer, Clarissa and I completed another 5k volksmarch in Puyallup.   The weather wasn't great, but it cooperated by not raining until after we were done.   The volksmarch itself was not that exciting, but it's always great to spend time with friends.

Me & Jennifer

That tree was cool..it had a lot of animals carved into it.  I liked the cute raccoons.

Spirit Week

Last week was spirit week at Corey's high school.   I was able to get photos for 3 of the 4 days she dressed up.  She didn't even bother to dress up for Duck Dynasty day-who came up with that?  Silly...

Cupcake Classic

Scott & Corey participated in the 3rd Annual Cupcake Classic 1 mile backwards run today to help benefit breast cancer research.  They weren't quite sure about running backwards, but ended up doing much better than anticipated. Scott finished in 15:57:36 and Corey was not too far behind him @ 16:33:41.  Afterwards they each got free cupcakes.  They both had a great time and hope to do it again next year.

Not looking too excited..yet :)

They had to put their numbers on their backs so that the race officials could see them as they crossed the line.
Looking a little more excited to start...

And they're off!

I was glad Scott wore bright orange..it made it much easier to pick him out of the crowd.

It wasn't long before I saw Scott heading to the finish line.

Crossing the finish line.

Here comes Corey!
Still smiling!

Corey went for the chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting...of course :)
Scott's was red velvet.

A Chorus Line

Scott and I bought a season pass to the 5th Avenue Theater for the 2026-2027 season, which will consist of 5 shows.  Our first show was A Ch...
