We took an afternoon stroll around Seward Park in Seattle today with Gabby and the pups. In all we walked 2.82 miles around the perimeter of the park. It was overcast and cool, but luckily no rain and not too windy. We had great views of Lake Washington and downtown Seattle in the distance. It was great to spend some time with Gabby. Since she has to work weekends now it makes it a bit more challenging to spend time together.

North Bend Volksmarch #8
It’s been a surprisingly busy volksmarch year for us. Today we took the puppies on volksmarch #8 in North Bend. We have stopped in North Bend many times on our way back and forth to Spokane and Pullman but we always stayed near the freeway. This time we walked through town which was really cute. They have quite a few parks and some pretty views of Mt Si. We were happy that it stayed dry the entire time. We completed the 6k fairly quickly—those puppies are always in a hurry to explore! Then we drove into Snoqualmie for lunch and yummy ice cream before heading home.

Tumwater Volksmarch #7
Today we went back to our old hometown of Tumwater for volksmarch #7. We were excited that Lisa, her daughter Natalie, and Teresa came out to do their first ever volksmarch. Our group also included Corey, Terrell, Jennifer and Clarissa. The puppies weren’t happy it was a guided walk because it took us a while to get started and they were raring to go after that long car ride.
We started at Brewery Park which used to be Tumwater Falls Park. This area has undergone a huge renovation since we moved away. The salmon area now has a glass viewing area, the bathrooms are updated, and they put in a new trail that connects it to Tumwater Historical Park. We learned a little bit about the salmon harvesting and release that happens there in the fall and spring before starting the 5k walk. Afterwards we had a really yummy lunch at Meconi’s. It was a great day with good friends and beautiful fall weather. Can’t really ask for more than that!
