Another House Update
On Monday morning I met with the project manager at our new house for a "dusty shoe" inspection to show us the bones of the house. The interior is framed and the plumbing and rough electrical are in. They said we are on time to finish by the end of November and that the dry wall should be going up some time next week. I did see that the siding was also being installed. So excited for it to be done!

House Update
With the really rainy weather we've had this past week I wasn't sure how much they would get done on the house, but we were pleasantly surprised to see today that the roof is on and the windows have been installed! I have our "dusty shoe" inspection a week from Monday which should be interesting. So happy they are making progress and I'm hopeful it will be done on time.

Hoodsport Trail Hike (#7)
With selling our house and getting ready for the move, we haven't had a lot of free time this summer. But since we are pretty much packed & ready for our move next Saturday (wow!) we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather today & do a little close-in hike. We traveled just a bit west of Hoodsport to hike the short, but fun Hoodsport Trail. We've driven by the sign for this hike many times on our way to Staircase or Big Creek, but never stopped because it's such a short hike--just 1.5 miles on the upper loop and .5 miles on the lower loop. Since we have not been very active this summer, today's hike seemed a perfect way to get back into it. We only hiked the upper trail, but the 1.5 loop gave us some good hills to climb. The trail was mostly well maintained & signed. We were the only ones in the parking lot when we got there, but when we returned there were 3 other cars and we also ran into a couple of mountain bikers. I guess that trail is more popular than I thought. We stopped in Hoodsport on the way home for burgers and Olympic Mountain ice cream. A little bittersweet that we probably won't be in this area for a long time once we move. Luckily I think there will be lots to explore near our new place. Good-bye Olympic Forest...you are a true gem!

Chicago Concert
On Friday Rozanne drove up to attend the Chicago concert with me at the Puyallup Fair. First we stopped by to show her the new house and neighborhood. They have made some more progress on the framing. We were able to walk through the model they are building; it was nice to get a glimpse of what our house will be like. The model will have the same finishes that we are putting in our house. After that we drove back to Puyallup and took the shuttle bus from the mall down to the fairgrounds. It was so nice to not have to search and pay for parking! We didn't have much time to explore the fair before the concert, but we did see some giant pumpkins. The concert was awesome! They mostly played their hits from the 70's but they did throw in a few songs from the 80's which Rozanne really liked. Such a great time; so glad Rozanne came with me!
