Windborne Music of Queen Concert

For Christmas Corey bought Scott tickets for a Queen concert and last night they finally went. The performance was at the Pantages Theater in downtown Tacoma.  Scott said the venue was really nice.  I don't think we've ever been to an event there.  They both enjoyed the concert and said the performance was fantastic.  So glad they got to go together!

They had great seats!

Elopement!

The day is here! Gabby & Ethan are eloping to Deception Pass State Park where they will exchange their vows this evening. Corey, Nova & I went up to Seattle yesterday to help Gabby bake & decorate her cake and buy her bouquet at Pike Place Market.  It was a gorgeous day, and we were able to enjoy some time outside after a yummy lunch at The Old Stove.  So happy for these two and I hope their day is extra special! Can't wait to see the video and pictures to come.

The Bride!

The new overlook area is really nice & they put in this cute little park with a couple of slides.

Nova liked the giant pig and also following its hoof prints!

Her beautiful bouquet.

The girls did a fantastic job decorating the cake! It is lemon cake with a strawberry reduction.

Kent Volksmarch #2 and Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year I asked the family to volksmarch!  It's been a while since everyone has gone, and this was also the first one for Ethan.  We started at Van Doren's Landing Park in Kent and walked 6k on the Green River Trail.  The weather was a lot nicer than we anticipated which was a welcome surprise.  Nova did walk some of it but mostly rode in the stroller.  She did get a chance to check out the playground before we started the walk. Afterwards we had a yummy lunch at the Szechuan First Restaurant followed by some games at the house. The girls bought me a lovely lupine and Scott got me a mahjong set. I've been YouTubing how to play and hope to get a group together to play soon!

Some lovely lupine along the path.

Snack break at the halfway point.

Tacoma Rainiers Games 8 & 9

We attended two Rainiers games last week when they played the Sacramento River Cats.  On Tuesday we had perfect weather and Scott even wore shorts! I think it was the hottest day of the year so far.  Unfortunately, that didn't translate into a win, and they ended up losing 4 to 2.  On Friday night it was cold, but the bats were hot, and we ended up winning 11 to 2!  We have a couple weeks off before our next set of games which start right after Memorial Day.  Hopefully it will be warmer by then!

Engagement Photos

Gabby and Ethan are getting married in just a few weeks! They have decided to elope instead of having a big wedding. They will host an event on their one-year anniversary for all their family & friends to celebrate.  They recently had their engagement photos taken on the evening of April 5th by Gabby's good friend Delaney.  The shoot took place in Fremont along the water. They wore the clothes they had made when we were in Vietnam.  Gabby said they saw a beaver in the water during the shoot. If that's not an auspicious sign, I don't know what is!

Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden

Yesterday, Corey, Nova and I visited the small but cute Highline Botanical Garden in SeaTac. I've only been here once before with Scott, but it was in January. This time there were a lot of flowers in bloom!  We were surprised at how many irises were blooming already.  Nova loved roaming around the park & checking out all the flowers and little bridges.  Such a fun place to visit!

A few rhodies were blooming as well.

All the irises were labeled. This is called Fruit at the Bottom.
