Scott, Clarissa, Jennifer and I completed our second volksmarch this year which also happened to be in Puyallup! But, unlike our first, this time it was dry, which was a pleasant surprise. We walked in the South Hill area, starting at Bradley Lake Park where we walked on the asphalt trail around the lake before heading into some residential areas. We took it easy, enjoying a nice leisurely stroll, admiring some of the flowers that have started blooming. So ready for spring! At the end, I didn't see the volksmarch flag, so I asked one of the volunteers where it was. She said they hadn't put it up, but she pulled it out of their bin & even took our group photo with it. Volksmarchers are such a nice bunch!

Nova's 1st Birthday Party
Corey could not have picked a more perfect day for Nova's first birthday party! The weather was glorious--sunny and warm! Sherry, Jamie and Gianna came all the way from Spokane to help her celebrate. We had a full house with all of Terrell's relatives and friends as well. Glad we were able to put some tables on the patio as our house is pretty small. Terrell's dad brought a BBQ and made burgers and veggie hotdogs. We provided lemonade, potato salad and couscous salad. Corey baked the cakes. Terrell's mom & grandma brought tons of fruits & veggies. We had way too much food! The theme was Happy Bee Day, and the decorations turned out great. Nova loved her smash cake; it was so fun to watch her gobble it up. This was the first time she's had frosting or cake and she definitely liked it! The dogs did surprisingly well. Harvey didn't even bark, although he spent most of the party hiding from everyone. It was a special and fun day!

Dash Point State Park Hike
It was a really beautiful spring-like weekend. So glad we were able to take Friday off and do some hiking while Sherry was in town for Nova's birthday party. We met up with Corey & Nova to hike at Dash Point, which they had not been to. Although it was sunny, the wind was brisk, and it was pretty cold on the beach. It was warmer on the trails, though. Luckily there was very little mud, and the trails overall were in great shape. Nova enjoyed exploring a new state park!
All bundled up and ready to go!
Even with a copy of the map on my phone we managed to get turned around but made it safely back to the car.
The Indian Plum (Osoberry) was blooming!
The tide was way out, and we had views of the snowy Olympic Mountains.
