Weekend in Spokane

This weekend we traveled over to Spokane so Gabby could see the family before she leaves for New Zealand next month.  We drove over on Friday night then met up with everyone on Saturday morning at Beck's Harvest House out in Green Bluff.  We had a lot of fun picking apples, eating pumpkin donuts, getting lost in the corn maze, and racing the pedal bikes.  Not quite as fun was the ride in the cows that were pulled along by a 4 wheeler...it was quite bumpy and my brain was rattling around pretty hard.  Afterward we went over to see Jamie & Dan's new house then to Neil's to visit where Scott & Gabby got to take the classic Mustang for a spin--definitely a highlight of this trip!  It was great to see everyone; now I just need to figure out what to bake with all those apples!

Friday night we stopped by for milkshakes at the Milk Bottle.

Gabby told us later she was planking instead of kneeling because she didn't want to get her pants wet :)

Scott trying to get started...they were heavy and hard to get going.

Gabby's only had one pedal so they pushed her around.

Scott got some help too.

It was funny watching Gabby try to do this.  She was too tall and it was really hard to do!

Gianna was just the right size!  Connor helped her along.

The crazy cow ride!

The smarter folks took the Country Limo for a much smoother ride.

Jen's Birthday at PowellsWood Garden

Jennifer's birthday is this week, so we had an early celebration on Saturday.  Jen, Clarissa and I visited PowellsWood Garden in Federal Way.  It's a privately owned garden that they open up to visitors to help offset some of their expenses.  We explored their 3 acres of gardens and followed a short trail up to a fuchsia garden also.  So many pretty flowers!  Definitely a lot of work though!  We talked a little bit to the owner and they hire out two gardeners and a lady who weeds just to maintain it all.  Afterward we had a yummy lunch at the Poodle Dog Restaurant.

So many different varieties of fuchsias!
