Rehearsals

I can't believe another year of dance has come to an end. This weekend is Spring Showcase, where the kids get to perform & show us everything they've learned over the course of this year.  I took the day off to take Gabby to dress rehearsals, which is always fun.  It's my chance to get a backstage peek and take a few photos.  Unfortunately we aren't allowed to use our flash, so even though I took a ton of photos, only a few came out post worthy.  

I watched her perform in two different dances, Celtic Tales and Not With Haste.  I have to admit that when she was dancing I got a little teary eyed. She has grown up so much just in these past few years with Studio West.  I am so thankful that when Nikki was here, she started her dance studio, which was where Gabby found a love for dance.   We are so proud of you, Gabby!

Not With Haste

JBLM Volksmarch #6

We completed our 6th volksmarch of the year at JBLM today. There was fairly decent weather, with a bit of rain just at the very beginning of the walk.  We were a little disappointed that it was the same route we took last year.  Afterwards we had lunch at the Bair Bistro, which is inside the historic Bair Drug & Hardware building  in Steilacoom.  The food was delicious!  That was the highlight of our day.

There were not as many exhibits this year..I think it had to do with the bad weather.

Jazz 4 Pictures

The end of the dance year is only a couple of weeks away with final performances June 1 & 2 at the Washington Center. We are excited to see Gabby perform!  We will attend 3 of the 5 shows.  She will be performing for all her classes-Ballet 4, Jazz 4, Modern I & II as well as two pieces for the Performance Division.  That girl is busy!  

They are taking class pictures this weekend.  Here are the photos I took of Gabby in her Jazz 4 costume after we returned from the photo shoot at the studio.

We're very excited to see Gabby in her studio's spring performance of Coppelia this weekend.  I volunteered back stage today & was able to get a few pictures.
