Maddox Month 6

Maddox is 6 months old today! He is such a sweet & laid-back baby. He's getting much more interactive, smiling & laughing.  He has the sweetest face! His hair is getting almost as big as he is! At his last doctor appointment, they were a little worried about his weight, but he seems to be growing like a weed because he will fit into some 12 months clothes already. Corey is starting to slowly introduce solid foods to him since he always seems to be interested in what they're eating and try to grab it!

Saturday Fun Day!

Corey's write up of their fun day:

Today we had a very busy day full of family fun starting with the sea and ending in space. We started our morning at Owen’s Beach for a low tide walk hosted by the Pt Defiance Zoo. We saw a lot of cool stuff including 3 bald eagles, seals, crabs, limpets, fish called gullets, a sea lion, and an octopus! Nova loved playing in the rocks and being around other kids.

Then in the afternoon I had gotten us tickets to see a planetarium show that Mom had sent me information about. It’s a show that goes through the planets and is recommended for kids 3 and up. So, we left Maddox with the grandparents (thanks again!) and got some quality Nova time. The show was pretty cool although not what I expected. The visuals were awesome and there were even interactive parts where the kids could touch sand like Mars, feel ice like Uranus and Neptune, and try using a hula hoop for Saturns’s rings. Nova loved being around more kids. I don’t think she was quite ready for the show because she wasn’t engaged the whole time but overall, it was worth checking out. I will definitely keep an eye out for more events there!

Maddie slept the whole time and missed all the sea creatures!

That same morning, I went hiking with my friend Tammy at 360 Park. Later that evening Scott & I ended up going to the planetarium for a Pink Floyd show that I actually liked even though I'm not a huge fan of their music.  The visuals were stunning. Scott wants to go back and see a Queen show. I will leave that for him & Corey.

Mount Baker Stair Walk #4 & Mother's Day

For Mother's Day I wanted to do a stair walk, so we headed up to the Mount Baker neighborhood of Seattle to complete our 4th stair walk this year with Gabby. This was a tough one with lots of big hills which I found harder than the actual stairs! The description said it was 2.4 miles, but my watch said we did 2.75 miles, and the stair count was 569 down and 372 up.  We walked through some beautiful neighborhoods and down to Lake Washington, crossing under the I-90 bridge.  Lots of beautiful views to be had along this route, and we were all really impressed with Bradner Gardens Park which had a cool mosaic bathroom and a cute little dog named Hazel who was helping her owners garden and who we got to pet.  After the walk we had a very delicious lunch at Mioposto. For Mother's Day this year Gabby got me a new food scale, which I sorely needed as mine is on its last legs. Corey got me some little fairly houses for the garden and some ink pens that we hope to use soon to do some rock painting. So grateful for my girls and that I get to be their mom and, of course, now a grandmother to Nova & Maddox. Life doesn't get better than this.

First set of stairs.

An unusual addition to our stair walk...we walked through 4 different tunnels!

We thought it was funny this was actually called orange-ball-tree.

Corey & fam had their own Mother's Day celebration at home with a pinata!

A Chorus Line

Scott and I bought a season pass to the 5th Avenue Theater for the 2026-2027 season, which will consist of 5 shows.  Our first show was A Ch...
