On Monday Gabby went down to Olympia to visit her friend Delaney. They had hoped to go to Lake Cushman to cool off since it was really hot that day. Unfortunately, when they got there, it was completely packed with people not social distancing. Instead they decided to go a little further west and ended up at Staircase Rapids in the Olympic National Forest. We've done this hike a few times before and it was one of our favorites while we lived in Tumwater since it was relatively close. Also, it gave us a good excuse to stop in nearby Hoodsport for hamburgers and ice cream! Here are some photos she took. I complained that she wasn't in any of the photos, but she said she was the photographer this time.
