WSU Baseball

Scott and I made a quick trip to Pullman this weekend to attend two baseball games. We left around 9:30 Friday morning with a quick stop in Ellensburg for lunch at 1201 Bagels, which was super yummy. Traffic wasn't great, and we arrived in Pullman around 3:30 with just a half hour to spare before the Bookie closed. We were able to pick up a onesie for Nova and a hat & sticker for me but could not find anything else on our list.  We walked over to Ferdinand's, but the line was super long, and they closed at 4:30, so we didn't get any ice cream.  Luckily though, we were able to secure a room at the Residence Inn on campus, which had no rooms available when we tried to book a room a few weeks ago.  So glad we didn't have to drive up to Spokane to stay at Sherry's, which was our original plan.  We checked into the hotel, then rested up a bit before walking over to Bailey-Brayton Field for the 6 o'clock game.  And it was an exciting game, too! We ended up winning 20 to 8 against USC!  After the game we walked back to the hotel, then crashed.

The next day we slept in a little bit (no puppies waking us up at 6:30!) and then had breakfast at the hotel before checking out.  We went into town and got gas & did some shopping at Crimson & Gray.  Then we drove into downtown, parked and walked around. The entire main street was torn up; they are redoing the infrastructure.  There was also a huge new 5 story complex.  Downtown Pullman looks very different! We saw Corey's first apartment that was over an ice cream shop but is now a Candle Bar.  We drove around after lunch in search of our old apartments. We found Scott's, but could not find mine because there had been so many new apartments built in that area, we were not sure of where it was.  We headed back to campus for the second baseball game at 2:00pm. We didn't stay for the entire game because it was so hot and also we wanted to get back home. They ended up losing anyhow.  We made it home by 9:30 and the puppies were very happy to see us, although I think they really liked the new dogsitters, Nicole & Jess. We took them for a short walk to stretch their legs and ours before heading to bed.  It was a busy couple of days!

My yummy bagel sandwich!

In line at Ferdinand's, but alas no ice cream!

They built this huge apartment complex across from the hotel. When Corey was here, this was just an empty hill.  We walked up to the water tower when she graduated for pictures.

View from our seats.

Players rushing the field after we won!

Downtown all torn up!

Corey's first apartment. The Lick's sign is still up, but they are not there anymore.

New building downtown.

Baseball game #2.  It was so hot!

Butch!
