Humboldt Parents Weekend & Redwood Park Hike (#15)

This weekend we traveled to Arcata to visit Gabby during HSU's Parents Weekend/Homecoming.  Although we were really only there Friday night and all of Saturday,  we managed to fit in quite a lot of fun activities including eating out, a pumpkin hunt, a hike through Redwood Park, shopping, the football game, a tour of the campus, and face-timing Corey.  We also got to meet Gabby's boyfriend Ethan and her friend Cameron.  The weather was beautiful & sunny which was awesome.  So great to spend some time with Gabby.  We sure do miss her!  Can't wait to have her home for a whole week at Thanksgiving.

At the crepe restaurant in downtown Arcata on Friday night.

So many different trails; we ended up hiking way more than we had anticipated and it was quite the workout!  So hilly!  This counted as our 15th hike this year and our 2nd one out of state.

She is standing on the edge of an old giant stump.  It was really deep inside.

Which way do we go?

We made it to the top!

Yummy lunch here after the hike.

Some different varieties that we don't get in Washington and the ground was so dry!  No mud to slog through for a change!

Searching for the perfect pumpkin.

At the football game.  It was a rough start but they ended up winning 52 to 49 against Azusa Pacific!

Unlike her sister, Gabby is not a big sports fan, but we thought we'd attend at least one football game while she was here.
