We took one step closer to finishing the kitchen remodel this week. Our tile backsplash has been installed! We originally were going to go with a small gray subway tile, but changed our minds because we couldn't find anyone to install it in a timely manner. We then decided to go with just extending the quartz countertop all the way up to the cabinets. However, when they came to measure for the countertops, they told us that they would have to leave a 1-inch gap between the microwave and the backsplash in case we ever needed to remove and replace the microwave in the future. We both were not thrilled with that option so pivoted back to tile. This time around our handyman gave us the contact for a new tile guy and he was super responsive and could fit us in right away. Scott has never been a huge fan of subway tile, so we decided to go a different direction and chose 5x5" tile in a creamy color. The nice thing is it has a lot of variation to it. He came and installed the backsplash yesterday and finished up grouting it today. We are really happy with how it turned out!
