This past weekend Corey went on another school field trip, this time to Chelan Ridge, about 13 miles northwest of Chelan in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. They visited with Hawkwatch International which does research in that area to track the migration of raptors. Hawkwatch also captures the raptors and marks them with leg bands to collect date such as weight, sex, health, age, etc. The project goes from August to the end of October each year, and has been in operation since 1998.
