Twanoh State Park

We decided to make today a family day and planned a hike at Staircase Rapids in the Olympic National Forest.  However, Gabby found that there was a warning about dangerous mountain goats in the area.  Instead, we hiked at Twanoh State Park on Hood Canal.  Corey & I had done this hike last November for one of our Yoh! adventures when the salmon were returning to spawn.  It's a very beautiful area.  The hike itself is rather short at just 2.5 miles in a loop, but it does have a pretty big hill to get our blood pumping.

Winston is looking mighty excited to go hiking.  Ever since he was last in the kennel he freaks out whenever we leave him at home.

Corey looking excited, too!

Heading up the trail with Twanoh Creek on our left.

This is a great bridge to watch salmon in the fall.

Old growth tree.  That trunk is pretty big!

Found some different berries along the trail...

Gabby's typical hiking face :)

Got this great family pic using the timer on my camera.  What was Winston looking at?

Beautiful Madrona tree.

Gabby wanted a photo by this cool tree.
