Yesterday the weather was a bit cloudy & rainy so we decided to take in a movie. We headed to Northtown Mall and saw "Up" which was really, really good. Everyone enjoyed it tremendously. It was very sweet & funny. After that we did some birthday shopping...for me! Scott managed to get a few things, too, for Father's Day. Oh, and Gabby got two really cute shirts at Justice. After we got home the weather picked up a bit and we had quite the thunderstorm. The power flicked off once and poor Winston was petrified. He's not used to thunderstorms since we hardly ever get any on the west side of the state.
This morning we went to the rose garden in the South Hill area of Spokane. We also got to explore the Japanese Garden as well as the Perennial Garden. Pictures to be posted soon. The girls pretty much stole my camera and took tons of pictures so it will take me a while to get them all downloaded & posted.
After the gardens we had lots of fun looking at model homes south of Spokane. There was one house we all fell in love with and at only $589,900 was quite the bargain! Finally we then headed downtown and looked around the Davenport Hotel. It is so beautiful inside. A young couple were there having their wedding pictures taken. And then we walked up to the Old Spaghetti Factory for a yummy dinner before heading home. Winston was so happy to see us as he was stuck inside the house all day. We decided to take him to the nearby school where he got to slide down the slides on the play equipment over and over again until he was pooped out.
It was a great way to spend my birthday weekend. I'm sad that we'll have to head home in the morning, but am looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again.
